The Joy of Giving …and of Receiving

With A Planned Gift to The Episcopal Parish of St. John the Baptist you can help sustain our mission and ministry for years to come.

Surveys indicate that nearly 89% of Americans contribute to charity, yet less than 10% make a charitable bequest.

The people of the community of St. John the Baptist are also known as faithful and generous contributors of time, talents and treasure.
We have been blessed by the many members who have made planned gifts to our parish.

A planned gift is any gift made through a will or a charitable trust.
Planned giving is one way that you can help insure that the mission our spiritual home, continues for generations to come.

A will is by far the most common way to make a planned gift.
A well-designed will preserves assets for our loved ones and can help to create a legacy of giving that survives well beyond our lifetimes.
The donor keeps assets during their life and the will designates that part or all of an estate is to be donated to the church.

In a charitable trust the donor puts cash or assets into a trust, the donor receives the income from the trust for life and the church receives the remainder of the trust assets when the gift matures.

If you would like to discuss making a planned gift to St. John The Baptist,
please contact Fr. Robert Bryant at 503-245-3777 or Mr. Bob McSweeny at 503-644-4198.
They will be happy to talk with you about your estate plans and to enlist the help of financial planning professionals if you need them.
